"Be able to extend and transmit a culture by making socially relevant statements" Hotcakes...personally, I have not had the pleasure of tasting one of these pastries, however, this cake has had a long history of being a long lasting statement in society. "They will sell like Hotcakes!!" Surely you have heard this spoken of when someone tells another that their product will sell to the public very well. Here, I have taken that legendary statement, and illustrated it with a particular twist of our current economy. As you should be well informed of our situation right now, things are not as great as they could be to say the least. In a way this picture is slightly saddening, as not even the mighty Hotcake cannot escape the cold hand of the 09 economy. But hey, tommorrow's a new day, and it could be the day for the Hotcake, and now I want cake.

"Understanding of art as an expression of a particular society" There are many different kinds of societies in the world today. As there are, green societies, mechanical societies, poor societies, and rich societies to name a few. My picture deplicts the rich society, a society of class, of elegance, and of fame. Many people strive for the higher class, and some of these people spend their entire lives trying to be accepted into this society. Whether a person needs to be thought of as high class because they are, or because they want to be. This chameleon shows that not only can this animal blend in to its surroundings, but that it can also blend in to appeal to the higher class. Think of it as a disguise to fool others into thinking that you are something that you are not.
"Appreciate the value of expressing in visual form one’s personal experience" A goal of personal expression, in how I created this particular picture and why I did so. First, I started to draw a breaking pillar that one could find in any sort of fortress or castle. My mind then thought of the idea of having some sort of acrobatic figure jumping across this pillar. Then, I started thinking about ninjas and their skills, and their own motives, such as assassinating a powerful figurehead or protecting the inocent. I then added the rope, so that this ninja could swing across to the next pillar, sort of like how we live our lives today, just going forward onto the next pillar of our life. Swinging on the ropes of time, and doing so by a means of quick, acurate moves, just like a ninja. However, we are not ninja's and so we must move through life the best that we can, look ahead, and to stay ahead of the flow.

"Be able to recognize and understand symbolism and its meaning in art." Wow, it sure has been a while since I updated this page, but to my viewers, I have returned. But now, for the goals, and this particular goal truely deplicts the piece of art that is shown before you.
Since the beginning of the video game era, Mega Man has been a common household name. Is it that challenge of the game? The music of the game? As I see it, the bosses of the stages that you play through are what make the game so enchanting. This particular boss is called Air Man, and for obvious reason as the stage in the game took place in the air with various areas of wind.
Air Man is the very definition of air in this game and the fan on his chest symbolizes this perfectly. May Mega Man, and all of those fantastic bosses live long into the future!

"Understand ideas and human values in art." This is my goal for my fourth additon to this page, and no better character can be used to describe this goal than Soren of the Fire Emblem series.
Soren, throughout the game, started off as a secret, dark, and rather emotionless character. He would never open up to anyone, but he would always think up the right idea at the right moment. However, as you progress through the game, you find out more and more about this strange man and discover how he became the person he is today.
His life was tragic, touching, and amazing to listen to, which is why Soren became my favorite character in this game. Soren was different from others, but he still had the same emotions as everyone, and all he needed was someone who cared.
"Be able to recognize and understand symbolism and its meaning in art." This is the goal that I have tried to create my the medium of drawing.
This tree, or rather, pair of trees showcase the ever changing seasons one finds in a year. In Summer, you see trees that are covered in healthy leaves, which are full of life. The warm, fresh air is perfect for this tree. This represents all joy, hope, and dreams in the lives of human beings.
However, on the opposite side, you find a tree that has been subjected to the harshness of winter, and the cold, merciless snow and ice, hinder the life of this tree. This represents the sorrows, the neglect and the worst times in the lives of human beings.
This picture was drawn to show, that life is a life that is full of change, be it wonderful, or terrible.

Here we have a bowl of noodles. Simple, silent, and quite tasty. I drew this image, because at the time, I was questioning the nutrients of noodles, and that, they were not very healthy for you.
However, more and more we see people eating noodles and I tell myself, "This is how the culture of the world is today.'' The culture of simpicity and on fast food. This single bowl of noodles could very well be the cause of the increase in health problems.
This picture was drawn, to encourage the develope personal vision within the context of art. Although, sometimes, i just want a snack.

Art Appreciation
Understanding of the historical and cultural contexts of art: As you can tell by the picture here, this is Orco from He-man and the Masters of the Universe. If you don't know what this is, go find it...now! But I chose to draw this picture because I felt that the youth today, does not have cartoons that are the same as He-man, and to me, that is a huge injustice. So here he is world, Orco will be remembered always in the lives of children the world over. Also, Orco is a fun character to draw and unleashed the inner geek inside of me.
